Tutorial on how to download, generate, restore or remove a backup in DirectAdmin
How to generate and download a full backup of your DirectAdmin Account?
You can make a backup of your DirectAdmin account and download it. How to Generate Backup of your DirectAdmin Account? 1. Login into your DirectAdmin account. 2. In the Advanced Features section, click on Create/Restore Backups Icon or type Restore in the navigation filter box and then the option will appear. Click on it.  3. Under Select Items to include in Backup, check-mark options you wish to include in your backup.  4. Scroll down to the end of page and then click the Create Backup button. 5. It will display a success message like Backup creation added to queue. Once the backup is generated, it will display a message under DirectAdmin Panel >> In Support & Help Section >> Support Center.  How to Download a Generated Backup of your Account? 1. Login into your DirectAdmin Account. 2. In the System Info & Files section, click on the File Manager Icon or type File Manager in the navigation filter box and then the option will appear. Click on it.  3. Open the** backups** folder, hover your mouse over your newly-generated backup file and it will display a Context Menu.  4. Click on Download and the file will be downloaded to your computer.  Congratulations, you have successfully generated a backup and downloaded it!
How to Download a Backup of Your Email, FTP or Database Only through DirectAdmin?
Do you know that If you want to download backup of only FTP data, emails or database data, you can do this from your DirectAdmin control panel. How to Generate а Backup of Your Database, FTP or Your Email Only? 1. Login to your DirectAdmin account. 2. In the Advanced Features section, click on Create/Restore Backups Icon or type Restore in the navigation filter box and then the option will appear. Click it.  3. Under the Select Items to include in Backup, for generating a backup of only your Email, you just need to untick all other options and tick-mark only the options displayed under Email. For FTP only backup, tick only the option which displays under FTP. You can do the same for the Database only backup.  4. Scroll down to the end of page and then click on the Create Backup button. 5. It will display a success message like Backup creation added to queue. Once the backup is generated, it will display a message under DirectAdmin Panel >> In Support & Help Section >> Support Center. How to Restore a Backup you Generated Earlier in DirectAdmin?
1. Login to your DirectAdmin account. 2. In the Advanced Features section, click on Create/Restore Backups icon or type Restore in the navigation filter box and then the option will appear. Click on it.  3. In top right-hand side, you will find the Restore Backup button. Click on it.  4. Under Restore Backup, click on the Drop-Down menu and select the backup you wish to restore.  5. Under Restore Options, it will display an option to check/uncheck. You can leave it as it is or uncheck the data you do not want to include in the restore.  6. Scroll down to the end of page and click the Restore Backup button.  If everything worked well, your database will have restored successfully. You can check the status of your restore from the Messages option. At the top right side, click on your username >> Messages. Note: The restore can take some time so check Messages after a few minutes but it will depend on the size of your backup.
How to Remove a Backup File from Your DirectAdmin?
You can remove backup files from your DirectAdmin to reduce disk space usage or, in case you are getting an error while generating a backup, such as indicating that the Backup is exceeding the storage limit, it will be useful for you to remove it. 1. Login to your DirectAdmin Account. 2. In the System Info & Files section, click on the File Manager Icon or type File Manager in the navigation filter box and then the option will appear. Click on it.  3. Open the backups folder, hover your mouse over your newly generated backup file and it will display a Context Menu.  4. Click on Delete and the file will be removed. Congratulations. You successfully removed the backup file.
